I love this and feel the same way about carving out time to watercolor... it takes me around an hour and the sense of accomplishment is significant!

Love this dress, and I feel very much the same getting back to the root of who I am with writing again. It's different kinds of "making" but there really is no feeling like creation.

Love it!! I've been watching YouTube videos of things people sewed in a year and so forth and getting so much inspiration. I agree these little things are so important for us.

Lauren this was such a good read - I absolutely love the ice cream decorations you did for your son's birthday and the dress you made too. I enjoyed reading your reflections too on what creativity means to you too with two young kids and how there's just as much joy in the process as there is in the finished piece. Creativity has been essential for me since the birth of my 3rd child, it's something for me and something to come back to time and time again in amongst the chaos of motherhood. I've just ordered a new yarn pack to make a Christmas crochet blanket so I'm excited to start that. I have an interview series on my Substack called 'Motherhood and Creativity' that you might enjoy - it's lovely reading what creativity means to different mums.

Kudos to you for tapping into this and following what brings you to life even in the demanding season of parenting you’re in! Our kids are similar ages and I have recently been itching for a hobby like this that’s completely with my hands/no screens. I’m so inspired by this!

Love this. Love the party decor. Love the dress!! I’m so happy for you that you’re finding time to make again. I’m trying to reprioritize it too. It’s so hard to find the time when there are other things to do. But it’s always so worth it.
